What A Long, Spooky Trip It’s Been
It’s 11pm and I’m shivering in a cemetery in the woods of New Hampshire, trying to coax information from the spirit realm out of a creepy-looking wooden idol. The icy wind is whipping through the trees and the noises coming out of the darkness seem like ghosties just out of reach. What the hell am I doing here? I think to myself. And why didn’t I bring gloves?
A Mount Washington Ghost Story
The Mount Washington Hotel has always slightly reminded me of the iconic Timberline Lodge, the famously eerie hotel filmed in the movie The Shining. It’s grand and beautiful in a way that only old hotels can be.
QUEEN MARY :: A Haunting in Long Beach
It’s impossible to look at the Queen Mary, the retired cruise ship that’s now a permanently-docked floating hotel in Long Beach, and not think of the Titanic. Both are Cunard White Star Line ships and were built about 20 years apart, so they have a lot of visual similarities, especially the dramatic black and red smokestacks towering above them. But they also have something else in common: they’re full of dead people.
Visit the world’s scariest places with the star of Ghost Hunters
If you’ve ever found yourself curled up on the couch, watching the cast of SyFy’s Ghost Hunters poke around in some of the most haunted buildings in the world and thought, “I wish I could do that,” then you’re in luck. Amy Bruni, one of the stars of Ghost Hunters, announced today that she’s launched a new travel and event company aimed squarely at fans of the paranormal.

Star of Syfy’s Ghost Hunters Launches Strange Escapes, A Boutique Paranormal Event Company
… Bruni, who recently announced her decision to depart from the Ghost Hunters series after seven seasons, is no stranger to the business of paranormal event management. In 2006, she founded Beyond Reality Events, alongside fellow paranormal notables Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, and Britt Griffith. Beyond Reality Events went on to become the premiere paranormal event planning business for the duration of its eight-year run.
Investigating the ghosts of the legendary Stanley Hotel
… before Jack Nicholson ever portrayed King’s protagonist, before the words “Heeeeeeeere’s Johnny!” were ever muttered onscreen, and before images and dialogue from Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 film adaptation ever took root into the annals of film history, there was a seed planted at the Stanley Hotel in majestic Estes Park, Colo.
The joy of the hunt
This past weekend ScareHouse was lucky to have a visit from Amy Bruni. Amy is known for her work on the show Ghost Hunters but she is also a multi-skilled and talented entrepreneur. Amy founded Strange Escapes, a company built to bring guests with a shared interest in all things paranormal, or just out of the ordinary, together for unforgettable experiences. It’s pretty awesome.
How a Weekend on Haunted Mackinac Island Resulted in Strange Insight Into the Nature of Ghosts
This past September, Greg and I were invited to visit Michigan’s beautiful and haunted Mackinac Island with Amy Bruni and the Strange Escapes gang. Never ones to say no to an adventure, we packed up The Traveling Museum of the Paranormal and Occult and headed off for the wonderfully weird island off the coast of Lake Huron to spend the weekend snooping for spooks at the infamously haunted Mission Point Resort. Little did we know that we were signing up for one of the strangest paranormal experiences we’ve ever had.
